KATHMANDU: Japanese actress and model Razel Ichimiya has been officially confirmed as a lead cast member in Jahajaima, an upcoming film directed by Krisha Chaulagain.
The production team announced her role through the release of a poster featuring Ichimiya, marking her debut in a Nepali film.
The poster itself portrays Ichimiya standing gracefully under a transparent umbrella amid a snow-covered backdrop, capturing both elegance and emotional depth. The visual suggests that Jahajaima is not just a cinematic project, but a symbolic bridge between Nepal and Japan.
Produced under the banner of UNA Production, the film will be helmed by producer Ujwal Guragain, with cinematography by Purushottam Pradhan. The story of Jahajaima revolves around love, dreams, struggles, and the deepening relationship between the two nations.
Though the film’s heroine has been confirmed, the lead actor has yet to be finalized. Director Chaulagain said the casting process for the male lead is still underway, and it remains uncertain whether he will be from Nepal or abroad. Jahajaima is scheduled to release in 2026.
Razel Ichimiya is a well-known figure in Japan’s entertainment industry. Razzel Ichimiya is known for her performances in Be My Guest, Be My Baby, Njel de Mesa’s Mama, San, and the upcoming series Tokyo Salad Bowl.
