KATHMANDU: Chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, has said he is willing to accept his removal from the party if the reason is based on the corruption case filed against him.
Addressing the first central committee meeting of the party’s student wing, ANNFSU, in Kathmandu on Friday, Nepal said he would step down without objection if the party decides to relieve him on those grounds.
Claiming he has the courage to form a party and face challenges head-on, Nepal insisted he has never taken a single penny in bribes and therefore has nothing to fear.
He also criticized the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) for filing a case against him in retaliation, despite the constitutional provision that prohibits the CIAA from investigating government policy decisions.
Nepal warned that those seeking revenge against him today might eventually fall into the same pit they are digging for him.
