The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Meteorological Forecasting Division has issued a special weather forecast bulletin for major religious and tourist destinations across the country in view of the Janai Purnima festival.
In the bulletin issued at noon on Thursday, the division forecast moderate to heavy rainfall in various religious areas across the country on Friday and Saturday.
In the Gosainkunda area of Rasuwa, which was affected by the Bhotekoshi flood, moderate rainfall is likely in many places from the afternoon on Friday. At night, moderate rain is expected in some places, with heavy rain possible in one or two locations.
On Saturday afternoon, moderate rain is likely in many places from the afternoon, while moderate rain is expected in some places at night, with heavy rain possible in one or two locations.
In the Panchpokhari area of Sindhupalchok, moderate rainfall is likely in many places from the afternoon on Friday. At night, moderate rain is expected in many places, with heavy rain possible in one or two locations. On Saturday afternoon, moderate rain is likely in some places from the afternoon, while heavy rain is possible in one or two locations at night.
In the Jatapokhari area along the Dolakha-Ramechhap border, moderate rainfall is likely during the daytime on both Friday and Saturday. At night, heavy rain is possible in one or two locations, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

The division has forecast moderate rainfall in some places in the Dansadhu area of Jumla and the Trivenidham area of Nawalparasi during the daytime and nighttime on both Friday and Saturday.

In the Kumbheshwar Temple area of Lalitpur, moderate rainfall is possible in some places on Friday afternoon, with moderate rain also possible at night. Moderate rainfall is also expected on Saturday.
According to the division, rainfall of up to 10 millimetres is classified as light, rainfall of 10 to 50 millimetres as moderate, and rainfall of 50 to 100 millimetres as heavy.
