KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank has published the updated foreign exchange rates for today (Friday), showing an overall increase in the value of major international currencies.
The US dollar continues to rise, with today’s buying rate set at NPR 136.49 and the selling rate at NPR 137.44. This marks an increase from Thursday’s rates of NPR 135.43 (buying) and NPR 136.03 (selling). Earlier, on Magh 25, the dollar had reached an all-time high in Nepal, with a buying rate of NPR 139.83 and a selling rate of NPR 140.43.
The euro also gained value, with today’s buying rate at NPR 154.49 and the selling rate at NPR 155.17. This is slightly higher than yesterday’s buying rate of NPR 153.95 and selling rate of NPR 154.63.
Similarly, the British pound rose to NPR 182.22 (buying) and NPR 183.02 (selling), up from Thursday’s NPR 180.80 and NPR 181.60, respectively.
The Australian dollar has also appreciated slightly, with the buying rate at NPR 87.87 and the selling rate at NPR 88.17. On Thursday, the rates were NPR 87.70 (buying) and NPR 88.09 (selling).
The Kuwaiti dinar posted a noticeable increase, with today’s buying rate at NPR 446.27 and the selling rate at NPR 448.23. This compares to Thursday’s NPR 441.74 (buying) and NPR 443.70 (selling).
Likewise, the Bahraini dinar is being traded at NPR 362.96 (buying) and NPR 364.55 (selling), up from the previous day’s NPR 359.20 and NPR 360.79.
