Proposed chairs finalised for 10 thematic and 2 joint committees (List)

Kathmandu, April 16

The names of the chairs for 10 thematic committees and 2 joint committees under the House of Representatives have been finalised.

A meeting of the parliamentary party of the Rastriya Swatantra Party held at Singha Durbar on Thursday afternoon decided the chairs of all 12 committees.

Members of the committees had already been finalised earlier. Under the Federal Parliament, there are a total of 16 thematic parliamentary committees.

There are four thematic committees under the National Assembly, which have already been formed.

The proposed committee chairs are as follows:

1. Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee — Samikshya Baskota
2. Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee — Ashok Kumar Chaudhary
3. Infrastructure Development Committee — Ashish Gajurel
4. Women and Social Affairs Committee — Aakriti Awasthi
5. State Affairs and Good Governance Committee — Hari Dhakal
6. Education, Health and Information Technology Committee — Ojashwi Sherchan
7. Public Accounts Committee — Main Opposition Party (Nepali Congress)
8. Parliamentary Hearing Committee — Bodh Narayan Shrestha
9. Industry, Commerce, Labour and Consumer Interest Committee — Rahbar Ansari
10. Committee on Monitoring and Evaluation of the Implementation of Directive Principles, Policies and Obligations of the State — Ganesh Karki
11. International Relations and Tourism Committee — Sumnima Udas
12. Finance Committee — Krishna Hari Budhathoki
