Kanchanpur, April 26
The Bhimdatta Municipality has implemented the ‘Daughter-in-law Higher Education Scholarship’ programme aimed at increasing women’s access to higher education. The municipality has implemented this programme to support meritorious, Dalit, and underprivileged daughters and daughters-in-law within the municipal area in pursuing higher education.
Under this programme, priority has been given to technical and vocational education. According to the municipality’s Chief Administrative Officer, Mahesh Bahadur Bam, two students will receive a scholarship of Rs 200 thousand each for MBBS studies, and three students will receive Rs 100 thousand each for engineering studies. Similarly, six female students studying in other faculties, including nursing, pharmacy, science, management, education, and humanities, will be provided with Rs 50 thousand each.
“We believe that this programme will provide relief to female students who face difficulties in attaining higher education due to financial constraints. It will be particularly useful for daughters and daughters-in-law who wish to continue their higher education after marriage,” said Chief Administrative Officer Bam.
