Two killed in Rukum West Scorpio accident

RUKUM WEST: Two people lost their lives in a Scorpio accident at Timile of Sanibheri Rural Municipality-10 in Rukum West.

The accident occurred on Monday afternoon while returning from Rukum West to Dang after attending a traditional worship ceremony.

The vehicle involved was a Scorpio with the registration number Lu Pra 02-001 Cha 0177.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Pramesh Bista of the District Police Office, Rukum West, the deceased have been identified as 50-year-old Nar Bahadur Oli and his 44-year-old wife Lila Oli, both originally from Sanibheri-10 but currently residing in Tulsipur, Dang.

Nar Bahadur died on the spot, while his wife Lila was declared dead at Chaurjahari Hospital after being taken there for treatment.

Two others were seriously injured in the accident.

The injured are identified as 60-year-old Rudri Oli, Nar Bahadur’s maternal aunt, and 44-year-old Lila Mani Bhandari, the driver, who is a resident of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-7, Dang.

They are currently undergoing treatment at Chaurjahari Hospital.

Police reported that the accident is under investigation, with initial findings suggesting brake failure as the cause.

The vehicle had fallen about 500 meters off the road, according to police.
