UML leaders reach Gundu to discuss draft on party reorganisation

Leaders involved in preparing a draft on the CPN-UML’s organisational reorganisation have reached Gundu to hold discussions with party Chair KP Sharma Oli.

According to sources, the leaders went to Gundu to consult Oli on the draft prepared to reconcile differing views within the party’s reorganisation task force.

Task force coordinator and UML Vice Chair Ram Bahadur Thapa has prepared a separate report in response to the report prepared by General Secretary Shankar Pokharel.

After the two separate reports were prepared, the task force formed a three-member committee comprising Thapa, Vice Chair Bishnu Prasad Paudel and Pokharel to prepare a common draft.

The committee has been tasked with incorporating the two reports as well as the views expressed by other party leaders into a single draft.

Leaders who had been given time to study and provide their views on the draft have reached Gundu for consultations with Oli, according to sources.

The consultations are taking place as the UML continues discussions on its organisational reorganisation amid differences among senior leaders over the direction of the process.
