According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, it will be generally cloudy throughout the country this afternoon.

Moderate rain is also expected in many hilly areas of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, in some locations of Madhes Province, and in a few Tarai regions elsewhere.

The department advises all communities in these regions to take necessary precautions and remain vigilant against sudden flooding events.

Likewise, moderate rainfall is likely to take place at some places in the hilly and tarai areas of Koshi and Lumbini Provinces and at a few places in the hilly and tarai areas of the rest of the provinces, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The monsoon trough is currently positioned near the southern plains of Nepal, intensifying rainfall in the region. Koshi and Sudurpaschim may experience heavy rain at isolated places, while Lumbini and Karnali provinces could see moderate showers.

The weather in most of the country today is cloudy, with light to moderate rain occurring in most parts of Lumbini, Madhes, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces, as well as in some places in Koshi and Bagmati Provinces.

The public is advised to remain alert, especially in flood-prone riverbanks and low-lying areas.

Additionally, isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in some parts of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Provinces.

The division has urged the public to exercise caution as heavy rainfall is likely to intensify river flows in several regions.
