Congress sets nomination fees for leadership positions from ward to central level

The Nepali Congress has issued its election directive, specifying the nomination fees for candidates contesting leadership positions at various levels of the party.

According to the directive, a candidate seeking to become the party’s central president must pay a nomination fee of Rs 40,000. Candidates for the Congress presidency must also have 10 general convention representatives as proposers and 10 as supporters.

The directive also specifies nomination fees for candidates contesting positions from the ward level to the central office-bearers. The fees have been approved by a meeting of the Central Working Committee.

Candidates for central vice president and general secretary must have seven proposers and seven supporters. Candidates for central joint general secretary must have five proposers and five supporters, while candidates for central member must have three proposers and three supporters.

The nomination fee has been set at Rs 30,000 for vice president and general secretary, Rs 20,000 for joint general secretary and Rs 11,000 for central member.

For provincial positions, the Congress has set the nomination fee at Rs 20,000 for provincial president, Rs 15,000 for vice president and general secretary, Rs 10,000 for joint general secretary and Rs 5,000 for provincial members.
