Two Crore Spent to Bring the Fierce Tiger to Life in Jar

KATHMANDU: The film Jar has allocated a significant budget for VFX. The production team spent a large amount on the scene featuring a tiger in the story.
Director Furwa Chiring Lama mentioned that they spent two crores on the scene where the tiger attacks a human.

Since the tiger is a central character in the movie, they had to depict it in the best possible way. Therefore, the tiger scene was created using VFX, with a budget of two crores, he clarified.
“It’s not just about money; we also spent a lot of time. It was a large team that worked on the VFX, and it took a long time,” Director Lama said. “VFX artists who have worked in Hollywood also worked in our film.”

Hollywood VFX artists who have worked in movies like Game of Thrones and Mission Impossible worked on the tiger scene in Jar, Lama said.
He revealed that they had used 37 VFX artists for the film. “We hired freelance VFX artists independently. If we had outsourced this work to a studio, it would have cost us at least eight to ten crores,” he said.

The crew worked on the scene in which the tiger pulls actor Saugat Malla through VFX.

Jar will be released on the 26th of Baisakh. The film is based on real events from the 1800s in Nepal, adapted from the historical story of the same name by writer Indra Bahadur Rai.
The film stars Saugat Malla, Anup Vikram Shahi, and actress Geetanjali Thapa in leading roles.

The cinematography of Jar was shot in Sikkim. The executive producers of the film include Trilochan Pandey, Niraj Rai, Nursang Bhutia, Jyoti Kshetri, and Pema Rinjing Lepcha.
The film’s cinematography is by Saravanan Ilawarsu, with Akhilesh Rai handling the editing. The music for the film is composed by Jhuma Limbu and Ganga Thapa.
